Engkent's mother

I believe it would benefit Engkent's mother to learn english, simply because she desires to live in a enlist speaking country for the rest of her life.  Although she is very old, and as you get older, it gets more difficult to learn a new language, and if she does want to learn the language.  Then it makes it that much more difficult to persuade her to learn the language.  But if she did learn english it would benefit her greatly and make living in canada much more pleasant.

Weekend

This weekend was not like any other weekend at college.  I didn't party, I didn't study, and I didn't sit inside.  I went camping with my FYE class, and it was a lot of fun.  We actually got 200 points of credit just for going on the trip with our class.  So it was fun and worth class point. win, win situation indeed.  The only thing I didn't like is that it rained almost the entire weekend, good thing we slept in cabins.  We did quite a few team building, and communication type activities.  Like the rock wall and a high-ropes course.  That was pretty scary but also a ton of fun.  I don't think I would do it again because of the rain.  But it was defiantly a change of pace from every other weekend here.

language Differences

In class we discussed language styles and differences for a portion of the day.  This made me think about when I was a freshman in high school.  My girlfriend at that time was from germany, she spoke fluent english and had lived in America since she was 9 years old.  Though she spoke english to me, her parents still spoke "deutsch" aka German to her.  It was quite interesting to go over to her house and hear them speak it to each other.  The only thing weird was, i was once talking with her and her parents, and all the sudden her parents would turn to her and begin speaking German.  This got me quite paranoid.  Later I asked her what they were saying, and she simply said that they misunderstood what I was saying to them.

Where I am from.

Where I am from, work is not work, its
money, its fun (in the end), its everything I wanted.
At the end of the long day, I would drive home, and see everything I saw when I was younger.
Just this time I see it differently.
I don't see the park as a play structure, its a sports palace.
I don't see my neighbors as old people, I see them as more workers.
Just like me.  I grew up in a wonderful place where I thought everything was perfect.
I still think that way, just this time I can appreciate it more.  Live it up while I can.
Because I know, where I am from, is not where I will stay.

About Sean

My name is Sean Cowman,
I am a freshman at Western Michigan University, who enjoys playing sports, or just doing anything outside.  I also like to consider myself a hard worker, though I love procrastinating, I still know how to get stuff done when it needs to be done.  I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  I loved there all my life until I came to college, I do miss my home own but I also believe in moving on to bigger and better things.  that's why I am here, to turn over a new leaf and experience what the rest of the world has to offer..  I can't wait to see what is in store for me.
